an individualized reading program that methodically takes your homeschool
student through a step by step analysis of nine different types of literature!
It's written by Carrie Austin, the author of the
Little Hands to Heaven,
Little Hearts for His Glory, and
Beyond Little Hearts curriculum.
The Teacher's Guide is multi-level and works with three levels of student books
(grades 2 to 8). Imagine having
all your different aged students reading the same type of book. Each one reads a different title at his reading level, but you
are all on the same page in your teacher's guide! A homeschool
dream curriculum!
Drawn into the Heart of Reading allows you to select
your student's reading, It's like a "template" curriculum--usable
with any good children's books! Each student book has nine
units with twenty days of instruction which equals 36 weeks of
lessons. You can use the program year after year with
different books!

 Drawn Into the Heart of Reading is "designed to help you guide students toward becoming
better readers. The instructions and activities were written to
develop readers who successfully comprehend and analyze the meaning of what
they read."
The nine units in Drawn Into the Heart of Reading cover the following
types of books:
- Historical Fiction
- Adventure
- Biography
- Fantasy
- Mystery
- Folk Tales
- Nonfiction
- Humor
- Realistic Fiction
The story elements that are emphasized in each unit are
character, setting, problem or conflict, mood, prediction/inference,
compare/contrast, cause and effect, main idea/theme, and perspective/point
of view. The major Godly character traits emphasized include faith,
fear of the Lord, responsibility, brotherly love, loyalty, virtue,
obedience, joy, and integrity. For help in selecting good books,
