Latin Primer Curriculum

The Latin Primer curriculum by Martha Wilson assumes that the parent has a knowledge of Latin; however, if you use the Logos School instruction DVDs for each level, you don't have to know Latin.  The Latin Primer series sets up the framework for learning Latin from a classical, Trivium-based approach.

Matin Latin is a different Latin program (also from Canon Press) that works like an elementary version of the classic Wheelock's Latin and focuses on a strong foundation in English grammar, then moving to the Latin grammar equivalent in clear, short steps.

After completion of either the Latin Primer series or the Matin Latin series, your student can move to Latin Grammar. All of the Latin courses from Canon Press use classical pronunciation.

Latin Primer 1

Students new to Latin will want to begin here. Latin Primer 1 sets up the framework for learning Latin from a classical, Trivium-based approach. It uses classical pronunciation. Latin Primer 1 focuses primarily on the memorization of vocabulary and noun and verb endings (declensions and conjugations), and basic grammar is touched on.

It is a one year program intended for grades 3 and up.
