Multi-level Geography Curriculum
Galloping the Globe is an introduction to world geography for grades K to 3 from Geography Matters.
Cantering the Country is a three year unit study based on the geography of the USA from Geography Matters.
Trail Guide to US Geography is a multi-level teacher's manual for teaching United States Geography. It has lesson plans and a student guide. The Captain's Dog is the book that is used in part of this book.
Trail Guide to World Geography covers world geography in a multi-level format similar to the Trail Guide to US History. This book uses Around the World in 80 Days by Jules Verne.
This section includes the geography curriculum that follows the "textbook approach." These courses are typically one year courses except as noted. They are more structured than the curriculum listed above.
Bob Jones Geography is a textbook curriculum for grade 9. The student activities book is excellent.
The Geography, A Literature Approach guide utilizes the Holling classics Paddle-to-the-Sea, Tree in the Trail, Minn of the Mississippi, and
Seabird. This award-winning course covers three main geographic regions of the United States, as well as a basic introduction to world geography.
The guide enables the teacher to set up for a one year study in social science incorporating geography, map-making skills, research projects, history and science. Additional reading suggestions are included in the guide.
There is map work in this course. Though the publisher offers a very nice set of large blank maps printed on paper with an old fashioned look, we think a better long-term investment is one of the following map products. You can use either of these for other geography and world or US map studies. You make the copies you need on your computer printer in the quantities you need for your family.
Suggestion: If you are a really into making maps, then purchase some parchment looking paper at your local office supply store and use it to make your homeschool maps.

We've included an informative WonderMaps Tutorial by Tyler Hogan of Bright Ideas Press, the publisher.
Not required in the Beautiful Feet Geography Study but it is recommended as a study of marine life.
Pagoo is a delightful and in-depth story of the life and habitat of a hermit crab from its perspective. The author and his illustrators did their homework.
