H. A. Guerber History Series
The Guerber History Series was chosen by homeschool expert and author Cathy Duffy as on of her "100 Top Picks for Homeschool Curriculum" in the history/social studies category.
The Guerber history series is recommended as a "child’s first introduction to history in grades 2-6."
It is a good series for reading aloud to the children. In addition, there are recommended reading suggestions keyed to the chapters. These suggested readings (often at the child's reading level) provide additional detail and exploration of topics from the narrative.

Information about Alexander the Great was expanded because of its importance in Biblical prophecy. More maps and illustrations have been added. The Recommended Reading list was expanded and keyed to the renumbered and new chapters.
