History Through the Ages
Historical Timeline Figures
The use of timelines adds depth to any study of history. Whether it's with a small personal notebook timeline or a giant wall timeline
for the entire family, timelines can help a student place historical figures and
events in the right perspective. It also reinforces what your student is
learning about history.
You have a choice of
pre-printed timeline figures
in four different sets or the
Historical Timeline
Figures Collection on CD which includes all four sets plus 80 new bonus
figures.
If you are really into timelines, you will like the
Record of Time - Timeline Notebook.
It's a deluxe album for keeping a journal of your history studies using the
timeline figures.
For a hands-on activity filled unit study, try the new Time
Travelers History Studies. There are two CD-Rom units:
Colonial Life and
New World
Explorers.

The
author/illustrator has done her homework in creating a package of timeline
figures that will work with just about any history curriculum. The
Resurrection to Revolution Historical Timeline Figures set
was specifically designed as a companion to
Diana Waring's History Alive! "Romans,
Reformers, and Revolutionaries".
The list of famous
persons ranges from Titus to Patrick Henry and the packet includes figures
for over includes over 250 black and white timeline figures with name, date,
and descriptive text. The images range from 2.5" to 4". The
illustrator suggests making reduced copies for notebook timelines.
Printed on a heavy card stock, you can use the pictures as is or have the
children color them. Though you can use crayons, markers, and gel
pens, good quality colored pencils will probably look the best. I
would suggest laminating them after you take the time to color them
(before you cut!)
Some of
the historical figures (to name a few):
- Tertullian (160-230 A.D.)
- Nero (37-68 A.D.)
- Leif Ericson (1000 A.D.)
- Mary I (Mary Tudor ) (1516-1558
A.D.)
- Hugh Capet (940-996 A.D.)
- Augustine (354-430 A.D.)
- Alfred the Great (849-899 A.D.)
- John Cabot (1450-1498 A.D.)

The Historical Timeline Figures Collection on CD (2 CD set)

the information, or for easier use in projects.
Both CDs have "Timeline Helps," Homeschool in the Woods' website
information of helpful ideas for using the figures with wall and notebook
timelines, suggestions for use in a variety of resources and games, and tips for
coloring and gluing the figures!

History Through the Ages Timeline sets:

The Record of Time - Timeline Notebook is a beautiful 12" x 9"
hard-cover 3-ring binder that was designed to take the shelf wear and
years of use! The binder allows the timeline to lay flat and offers a way to
remove or add additional pages.
The one-hundred and twenty-two durable, ivory colored, cardstock
pages, are dated from 5000 BC to 2025 AD. Each page contains faint background
lines for adding notes and inspiring quotes pertaining to the time period!

modern world. To personalize the Record Book, there is a signature page.
The publisher recommends using the notebook size timeline
figures from the
Historical Timeline Figures Collection on CD or copying and reducing the
