Homeschool Music Books and Curriculum
Welcome to Homeschool Music Books and Curriculum at Lamp Post Homeschool Store.
What's a well rounded homeschool program without music?
Basically there are two major types of music courses.
First, there are the technical music courses where one learns to sing or to play an instrument (such as Piano for Life or Jean Welles
Worship Guitar) or learns music theory (Essentials of Music Theory.)
Then, there are the music appreciation and music history courses. Most non-music majors take this type of music course for their necessary music credits. Some of our favorites for teaching music history and appreciation at home are Stories of the Great Composers, Meet the Great Composers, and Accent on Composers. They cover elementary grades through high school. The Gift of Music and the Spiritual Lives of Great Composers also cover famous composers.
If your child likes to learn about composers, listen to samples of their music, and color at the same time, the he will like Color the Classics. You can check out the Composer Coloring Books if you want to supplement your music curriculum.
