AVKO Sequential Spelling By Don McCabe, Wave 3 Learning
Use multi-sensory learning methods to help dyslexic students compensate for learning difficulties in spelling.
Sequential Spelling is the only method of teaching spelling that eliminates the "study-for-the-test-and-forget-by-Monday" syndrome.
Each of the 7 levels has 180 daily tests of 21 words for a total of over 25,000 words! Sequential Spelling teaches spelling patterns and the way words
build (all, tall, stall, install, installment, installation). For this reason you should always start with Volume 1 because Sequential Spelling teaches by
patterns, not by grade levels. Learning to spell by patterns is easy. Every Sequential Spelling book contains 180 lessons (about 72 pgs.)
There is a Student Response Book for recording answers. This program is economical because you can reuse the spelling books for your other students.

From AVKO Educational Research Foundation, this is a multi-sensory spelling approach. The letters in AVKO stand for Auditory,
Visual, Kinesthetic, and Oral. By using the multi-sensory learning methods, dyslexic students can learn to compensate for learning difficulties in spelling.
