Transcript: What Do You Say to Encourage People Who Want to Homeschool?

Rob:

How do you encourage someone who says, I don't have the ability to teach my children? What do you say to them to encourage them?

Harriet:

If God has called you to homeschool, He will equip you. You may not know everything you need to know right now. I have had many parents come to our store and say, "I'm learning this along with my child."

My own sister, who is a physician, is telling me about reading Charlotte's Web and all these wonderful children's books. I'm just looking at her, [saying] "You mean you never read that when you were a child?"

[She said,] "No, I always had other things to do. Now I get to read all these things and I'm learning all about children's literature and some other things [I] didn't have time for [I was] in school. "

A lot of parents find that it's a chance to learn for themselves.
