Critical Thinking Word Roots WorkbooksThe Word Roots series is useful for developing critical thinking skills for vocabulary.It teaches students the meanings of Latin prefixes, roots, and suffixes commonly used in English.Learning these word elements can improve spelling and the ability to decode unfamiliar words. In each lesson of Word Roots, students first learn the meanings of prefixes, roots, and suffixes. Then they divide known and unknown words into their elements or assemble elements to form whole words, match word parts or whole words to their definitions by analyzing their meanings, and apply their new vocabulary in sentences. Each book includes a Pretest/Post-test, answers, and a dictionary of words derived from Latin roots. It is reproducible for multiple students. The Word Roots series is appropriate for grades 2 to 12 and up.
